I am so in love with Go-To Skincare! I've only heard about Go-To very recently (thanks Robyn!) and decided to give it a go after some of my existing skin care products have run out. I must admit, it was the colour and design of the product that really got me hooked at the start. Then the clever branding, the bad jokes, the cutest packaging, the amazing ingredients used in the products, and the results that I've seen on my skin.

When I first received the parcel, I was blown away by the packaging. Beautiful box, tissue paper, bubble wrap, and even a fortune cookie that said 'You will take a photo of this and post it on Instagram.' And guess what, I did. I absolutely love the clever description and the fun names of each product in the range.

First things first, I have quite oily and acne prone skin (mainly during shark week). I also have some acne scarring on my cheeks. It has been 2 weeks since I first started using the Go-To range and it has been great! I have noticed an improvement in the texture of my skin and a few dark spots/scars lighten significantly.

I ordered the 'Misbehaving Skin' bundle which includes Properly Clean (foam cleanser), Face Hero (face oil) and Exfoliating Swipeys  (exfoliating wipes). While Properly Clean is a great product, it's not a life changing cleanser. The other two products are the real stand outs and are (in my opinion) great alternatives for some really high end products I've tried in the past.

Exfoliating Swipeys is a great dupe for the Dr Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Face Peel. It is a butt load cheaper and gave me results that were just as good. It is also a lot more gentle on my skin and contains no nasties! This promises glowing skin and it delivers. I also highly recommend the DDG peel pads if the Go-To ones didn't really work out for you. Bit steep price wise but it'll be worth it.

Face Hero is a great dupe for the Sunday Riley's Artemis face oil. Again, it is a whole lot (like, a lot) cheaper and gave me results that were just as good. It is very lightweight but also super hydrating. I always wake up with amazing looking skin when I use Face Hero! I tend to avoid in the mornings because of my already oily skin.

I absolutely love the Sunday Riley range of face oils but they cost an arm and a leg. I get moments where I decide I will finally purchase a bottle, but usually I end up popping into Mecca and grabbing a sample instead. A slightly cheaper alternative is The Body Shop's Vitamin E Serum. This I have tried and loved for a long time. Face oils come in tiny little bottles but they go a long way since you only need 2-3 drops for your entire face.

I hope this little review will come in handy for someone. It's been fun photographing and writing again! We've had Internet issues for the past month and so I haven't been able to upload anything. Fingers crossed Optus gets our home Internet sorted soon so I can get more content up regularly (yaaay)!

September has been a hectic month. It is now week 8 of the semester and I'm getting slightly nervous. That can only mean many hours spent in the photography studio at university working on assignments. I threw up at an engagement party I attended and was out of action for an entire week sick following that. Thank goodness I made it to the bathroom in time! On that note, here's some of my favourite moments this month amidst the craziness.

1. BIRKENSTOCKS! I don't even know if they're cool anymore, or if they've ever been cool, but I have a new found love for Birkenstocks. They look a bit more presentable than thongs (or flip-flops) and make the perfect footwear to dress down an outfit. I have the plain black pair with a single strap across and I've been pairing them with both skinny jeans rolled up and with dresses. ASOS carries a small selection of designs, but I think you're better off going into your local store or go onto the official website. Also, Bruce the bruise happened just two days ago. I tripped over my own feet while jogging. End of story.

2. I have been browsing and contemplating a pair of Shevoke sunnies for a good couple months, and this month I finally caved and purchased a pair. I opted for this rose gold pair and I am absolutely in love! Everything about this pair of sunnies is just perfect, from the color, to the fit and the shape. I have a pretty average-slightly larger than average sized head so I generally do not have too much trouble with the size of sunglasses. Before taking the plunge and purchasing a pair, I suggest having a look on their Instagram page for photos of real people wearing the product to get an idea of how it will look like on yourself.

3. Speaking of rose, I have a new rose scented skincare discovery. It is a facial spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. It is great for a boost of hydration throughout the day, or for use before/after make up. I have been using this as a makeup setting spray and I find that it really helps keep everything in place much longer. If I have an extra long day, I'll pop this in my bag/car and use it throughout the day when I get a bit tired. I've seen many other facial sprays but they cost so much money! This is by far the most affordable one I've come across - and it works wonders!

4. I saved the best for last: This is potentially the BIGGEST highlight of this year so far. I am officially an Australian permanent resident!!!! Only took SIX YEARS from the day the visa application was first lodged and the day it was approved. I AM STOKED BEYOND WORDS. Australia, You're stuck with me forever. I am here to stay!

Apologies for the lack of updates on here recently, I'll be back here on a regular basis once things at uni settles down a little bit. Follow me on Instagram @zooetan to see what I'm up to while I'm not blogging. HELLO OCTOBER. x

July - what a month it has been! Winter finally decided to kick in, I've started a website, I had bright pink hair (chalk) for a night, I have a new house mate coming in a an hour or so... Anyway, a few highlights below.

1. My new bed was a very lucky find on gumtree - $330 for the frame and mattress. It was three months old but in great condition. I had the mattress steam cleaned before I slept in it just for hygiene reasons. My bedside table is a kitchen trolley from IKEA. It was my beauty trolley before but after some rearranging, it now holds all my bedside essentials and make up. Cushions are from IKEA too but are from the recent limited edition collection.

2. This months beauty bits I've been loving are now my winter essentials. My face has been exceptionally dry and quite spotty this winter so my skincare/makeup needed an update. I've been using the Aesop cleansing masque once a week for a deep cleanse and oomph of hydration. On a daily basis, I use The Body Shop's sorbet in the mornings under makeup and (if I'm heading out) the Mecca tinted moisturiser over the top. Hydration, SPF and a decent coverage - can't go wrong!

3. I'm not a huge wearer of jewellery unless they are dainty pieces or have some sort of cool geometric shape. I bought this on ASOS as a 'filler item' so I could qualify for free shipping. Contrary to the image, I actually have quite skinny fingers so I wasn't sure if these ring would fit. One of them fits better than the other, but I love them just the same.

4. I have to admit that this was not an original idea, but rather was inspired by an image I saw on Instagram awhile ago. This is the perfect necklace/headband storage and display. I bought Cookie Monster as a souvenir when I visited Universal Studios Singapore in Jan 2014. The other bits are gifts, DIY from friends or purchased from the shops.

5. I have an obsession with glass jars!!! Admittedly, I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to glass jars. I threw out so many of them when I moved about a year ago and now I have a new collection. Oops. The deer jar filled with potpourri was a leftover decoration from Naomi + Alan's wedding. I also spray painted (metallic gold) some leftover baby's breath from the wedding and they are one of my favourite things in the house.

Yes, I love IKEA and glass jars. I just can't help myself. Bring on August! x
